Javad’s quickness will prove challenging for opposing defenders as he has shown in friendly matches leading up to the tournament. He is more of an attacking point guard who can break down a defense and set up perimeter players such as Hamed Afagh. Although his techniques are a big unorthodox, he brings a sort of south-paw confusion to defenders, which along with his energy, can manifest into something potent. Anyone who watched him play against Argentina at the FIBA Diamond Ball would have been impressed. Javad had 14 points and three steals as Iran battled hard against the Olympic champions but lost 81-71.
