Career: Echague Parana (Argentina, 2000-02), Imola (Italy-Legadue, 2002-03), Livorno (Italy-Lega, 2004-06), Spartak St Petersburg (Russia A-Superleague, 2007-2008)
Having spent almost his entire professional career overseas, Porta is the youngest member of the National Team. This skilled, points scoring point guard has shown improvement each year. He represents the new generation that will be looking to take over when Manu Ginobili and Co retire. This young playmaker is ambitious and driven. At last year’s FIBA Americas Championship, he averaged 4.8 points and 1.5 assists as a back-up to Pablo Prigioni. Every year, he has been looking for a new challenge. Moving to Russia to a Spartak St Petersburg, Porta was able to find a spot and showcase his talent. A serious knee injury cut his 2007-08 season short but he recovered in time to play at the Olympics.
