Career: Spartak St. Petersburg (Russia-Superleague, 1996-98), CSKA Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 1998-2001), Utah Jazz (USA-NBA, 2001-08). Selected in the first round of the 1999 NBA draft (#24) by the Utah Jazz.

The summer of 2007 turned out to be a blessing for the Utah Jazz do-it-all forward Andrei Kirilenko. After a frustrating 2006-07 campaign in the NBA, “AK47” regained his confidence and momentum with the national team at the EuroBasket in Spain. Kirilenko poured in 29 points and corralled eight rebounds in the semi-final upset of Lithuania and had 17 points in the final against the Spaniards. His on-the court performances and off-the-court leadership saw him earn a well-deserved EuroBasket MVP trophy. Kirilenko then had a good season with Utah, where he has been working on his outside jumper with former Jazz sharpshooter Jeff Hornacek. The extra attention must be helping because the 2004 NBA All-Star had his best season in field goal percentage.
