TOKUSHIMA (FIBA Asia Championship) - Hosts Japan brought the curtain down on the preliminary league of the Championship, beating Kuwait 101-48, on Monday.

"We are happy we could keep the momentum going into the quarterfinals," said Japan coach Kimikazu Suzuki.

"It was also a good opportunity to get all the players a feel of the court," he added.

Japan 101 (Joji Takeuchi 22, Takuya Nawamura 18) bt Kuwait 48 (Sulaiman Altabakh 8). Quarterwise: 18-14, 47-17, 75-32.
