VALDIVIA (FIBA Americas Championship for Women) - The Brazilian National team won Bronze in the FIBA Americas Championship for Women by dominating Argentina 73-41 after suffering a loss yesterday against Cuba.
The Argentineans only offered resistence in the first quarter as they won 15-13. In the second quarter the players coached by Paulo Bassul started to control the game and combined with the quickness of Micaela who netted 15 points and the talent of Iziane and Claudinha, they dominated in the next three quarters.
Brazil came to this tournament with hope to get direct qualification into the Olympics but now they have to play in the World Pre-Olympic Tournament in order to qualify along with Argentina.
