VALDIVIA (FIBA Americas Championship for Women) – The first game of the second day of action in the FIBA Americas Championship 2007 featured the tournament’s favorite against perhaps the tournament’s weakest team. The final score, 115 – 47, proved it, as USA easily defeated Jamaica.
As she did yesterday against Cuba, Diana Taurasi, arguably USA’s best player, was a key factor in her team victory, after scoring 12 points, with continuous assists to her teammate, Tina Thompson, who was the game’s best scorer, with 18 points.
Jamaica had no chance against their rivals, who in turn took the liberty of playing their 12 players, giving a lot of resting time to their stars players.
