EKATERINBURG (FIBA Women`s World League) - A jump shot at the buzzer from Yakelyn Tizon gave Basketball Club Habana their first win of the Women's World League with a dramatic 72-71 victory over Mizo Pecs.
Both teams came into the game winless, and when Tijana Krivacevic made two free throws to put the Hungarians in the lead with just eight seconds left to play, it seemed Habana would stay that way.
However, Yulizeny Soria set Tizon up for a dramatic late winner, one of three assists she claimed in the game.
The Hungarians led 27-20 after the first quarter and 47-36 at half-time, but the Cuban side fought back and got just rewards for their tenacity.
Yayma Boulet led the way for the victors with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Dalma Ivanyi's 18 points and 11 rebounds were in vain for Pecs.
