EKATERINBURG (FIBA Women`s World League) - TEO Vilnius snapped a tie by hitting three consecutive shots from behind the arc at the start of the fourth quarter en route to a 79-76 upset of the USA Basketball Select team.

After the USA representatives reeled off nine consecutive points at the end of the third quarter to tie the contest at 47-47, TEO looked to be in trouble.

But after Egle Sulciute struck from long range, former CSKA Samara reserve Kristine Hayne buried back-to-back three-balls in the space of 30 seconds for a 56-47 advantage.

That burst propelled the Lithuanians to victory.

The Americans played very much like a side that could win the competition in their opening day victory over the Canberra Capitals, but against TEO they fell behind in the first half and trailed 39-30 at the break.

After Belarus' EuroBasket Women center Yelena Leuchanka made a pair of buckets, Sulciute converted a couple of shots from the line to give TEO their biggest lead at 45-32.

The USA team hit back with five different players scoring in the 9-0 run.

TEO surged ahead at the start of the final period and claimed victory.

Nykesha Sales, the American heroine of Gambrinus Sika Brno's EuroLeague Women title win over CSKA Samara two years ago, had a game-high 23 points for TEO.

Haynie, who finished four of six (67%) from the arc, and Leuchanka each had 15 points.

For the USA Basketball Select, Diana Taurasi scored 16 points.

TEO take on Canberra Capitals on Wednesday in their last preliminary round game while the Anne Donovan's Americans now face a very difficult game against CSKA Moscow.
