BRATISLAVA (FIBA U19 World Championship for Women) - The United States were in dominant form again as they trounced China in their second game in Group B in the FIBA U19 World Championship for Women.

The scoreline was not quite as emphatic as the 95-25 spanking they had handed out to the Ivory Coast 24 hours earlier but the 101-60 scoreline was further evidence of the superiority of the Americans who are favourites to win the tournament in Slovakia.

Krystal Thomas poured in a game-high 17 points for the Americans with five rebounds while Victoria Baugh had 13 boards with her eight points.

Also impressive were Maya Moore (12), Jantel Lavender (11), Italee Lucas (10) and Kayla Pederson (10).

In fairness to China they remained competitive for three quarters before being crushed 34-3 in the final period.

After Team USA won the first 25-14, the second was shared 21-21.

The Chinese even pipped the Americans 22-21 in the third period.

Meiling Zeng was the best performer for China with statistics of 12 points and seven rebounds.

China had opened up their campaign with a 67-48 beating of Lithuania and can feel pleased to have given the Americans a tough game for three quarters.
