NOVI SAD (FIBA U19 World Championship) - USA cruised to another straightforward victory on Tuesday to maintain their 100% record at the FIBA U19 World Championship.
Jerry Wainwright's men saw off Brazil 104-65 and are now the only side in Group F to have won all five of their games in Novi Sad.
A 14-1 run in the opening period established the USA's superiority and it proved a lead they never looked like squandering.
They led 30-16 after 10 minutes and maintained their advantage by reaching half-time 45-31 up.
The third was one-way traffic as the USA won it 33-17 to move 78-48 ahead.
And they showed no let-up the rest of the way to complete a comprehensive win in which Michael Beasley was outstanding.
The 6ft 8in forward poured in 16 points and also pulled down nine rebounds.
Beasley was helped by 13 points from Patrick Beverley.
Brazil's Paulao Prestes was, however, the outstanding player on the court.
The 19-year-old center contributed team-highs in points (26) and rebounds (13) and can consider himself unfortunate to have finished on the losing side.
Brazil are 2-3.
