Paul Coughter is a globetrotter. He has coached on six continents and has conducted many clinics as a certified FIBA expert.
He was born in New York and has more than 25 years of coaching experience, starting his coaching career in 1979. He has won trophies throughout the world and led the national teams of Wales, Pakistan and South Africa at the beginning of the 1980s.
Then he coached clubs in Finland, Australia, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Taiwan.
In 1999, he was hired by Club du Rosaire and then joined Sporting Al Ryadi Beirut the following season. After one season in Norway, he came back to Lebanon to coach the Blue Stars.
In 2004, he led the Lebanese Junior National Team to fourth place at the FIBA Asia Championship. The following year, he took the reins of the Senior National Team.
