Opals team captain Lauren Jackson is one of the best players in the world. Having played as a teenager on Australia’s 1998 FIBA World Championship team in Berlin where she averaged 10.9 points in 12 minutes per game , Jackson has gotten better and better every year. She was unstoppable at the EuroLeague Women Final Four this year with Spartak Moscow Region, helping them capture a second straight title. As good as Jackson is in the paint, she may be even better from behind the arc. In the EuroLeague Women this year, she made an astounding 56.5% (39 of 69) of her shots from long range and poured in 23.6 points per game. And she played well in the big games, too, burying three of four shots from the arc and finishing with 35 points in the EuroLeague Women semi-final triumph over UMMC Ekaterinburg.
