Kristi Harrower is one of the best playmakers in international basketball. Having competed for Tom Maher on the Australia team at the 1998 FIBA World Championship in Berlin, Harrower has been an ever-present in the Opals team. She can score in transition or create opportunities for her teammates. She has also been known to drill important shots from behind the three-point arc. One look at her numbers at the FIBA World Championship two years ago in Brazil shows have valuable she is. Harrower averaged 29 minutes per game, scoring 11.1 points and dishing out 3.9 assists. Even more important for the Opals is that Harrower is a real scrapper, the kind of player who will always dive for loose balls. And, she excels on defense. Harrower spent this past season with fellow Australian Penny Taylor at UMMC Ekaterinburg, helping the Russian team reach the EuroLeague Women Final Four.
