The poster boy of Turkish basketball. Even though Ibrahim Kutluay is moving towards the wrong side of 30, he is still a deadly scorer. Not only is he still one of the best shooters in Europe, Kutluay can score by any means necessary. He is so deadly from three-point range that all defenses are always right in his face. But his uncanny instincts just show him the way to the basket. He almost magically finds a way to score and puts up 20 points like a walk in the park. He just has a scorer's gift. Despite being such a prolific scorer, he can't go to his left, which by now, all defenses know. Also his age is beginning to show on the defensive end with very limited lateral movement. His designated role is to be the assassin, and he is still a master of his art. But this year something unbelievable happened. Who said you cannot improve after a certain age?
Kutluay has always been a scorer and contributed in few other ways. But this season he showed that he can concentrate on other areas and be effective too. He became a very good rebounder for his position. He was also a very effective passer. Being a prolific scorer, he knows when and where the ball should be headed. He has redefined his game, and to almost everyone's surprise "the scoring machine" became a more overall player. Kutluay is an example for young talent to follow.
