Career: Pinheiros (Brazil, 2002-03), Paulistano (Brazil, 2003-04), Joventut Badalona (Spain-ACB, 2004-06).
Marcelinho is coming off an outstanding season with Spanish powerhouses Badalona. He was a key reserve during the FIBA EuroCup run, scoring 12 points in the final against Russian team Khimki Moscow.
Initially a natural shooting guard, Huertas has managed to become a reliable playmaker, even though he remains a deadly outside shooter. A very nice athlete, Marcelinho showed that his understanding of the game was far more developed than anyone had expected. His ability to read and react to almost every offensive situation made him a constant threat with the ball in his hands. While many of the young players from this generation tend to bring a new defensive flavor to the Brazilian team, Huertas relates to the old generation, struggling to defend his opponent one-on-one.
