Career: North Carolina Charlotte (USA-NCAA Div. 1, 1999-2000), Brisbane Bullets (Australia-NBL, 2000-03), Panionios (Greece-ESAKE, 2003), Brisbane Bullets (Australia-NBL, 2004), Roma (Italy-Lega, 2004-06).

Wade Helliwell owns three different passports, from Australia, United States and United Kingdom. Coming back from the United States, he played three seasons with the Brisbane Bullets and proved he had the level to play in Europe. After few games in Greece, he came back to Australia before going back to Europe three months later, in Italy this time.

He has been playing with Lottomatica Roma for more than two seasons now but hasn’t won himself a significant role with the team. His size is above all valuable in defence to grab rebounds and block shots. Helliwell does not have a lot of experience with the Boomers and could learn a lot from the other National Team big men.
