Career: North Carolina Tar Heels (USA-NCAA, 1996-2000), Gary Steelheads (USA-CBA, 2000-01), Ostende (Belgium, 2001-02), Zalgiris Kaunas (Lithuania-LKL, 2002-04), Dynamo St. Petersburg (Russia-Superleague, 2004-05), Zalgiris Kaunas (Lithuania-LKL, 2005-06), F.C. Barcelona (Spain-ACB, 2005-06).

Born to Panama parents, Cota has been getting closer to the National Team over the last few years. At 30, he will be a rookie on the team heading to Japan. An excellent playmaker, Cota made it to the NCAA Final Four with North Carolina and finished his college career as the third top passer in NCAA history. An impressive rebounder for a point guard,

Cota can bring a lot to the Panama National Team as far as leadership and experience. He had a very strong season with Zalgiris Kaunas in 2003-04 and almost made it to the Final Four. His one weakness remains his shot, which will probably never fall consistently.
