Career: Marinos (Venezuela-LPB, 1998-2006), Billings RimRockers (USA-IBA, 1999-2000), Guácharos (Venezuela-LNB, 2001), Houston Rockets (NBA, 2001-02), Golden State Warriors (NBA, 2002), Napoli (Italy-Lega, 2003), Khimky (Russia-SuperLeague, 2004-06).

Oscar Torres is the go-to-guy for the Venezuelan National Team. After attending high school in the United States, he came back to his native country to play for Marinos de Oriente and helped them win two LPB titles in 1998 and 2003. In 2001, he was invited by the Houston Rockets, the former team of national hero Carl Herrera, to play in the summer leagues. He convinced the Houston front office to offer him a chance and he played 25 games in the NBA during the 2001-02 season, averaging 4.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. The next season, he joined the Golden State Warriors and appeared in 17 games, posting 3.1 points per game before eventually finishing the season with Napoli.

After another good season in Italy (14.7 pts and 4.9 rbs), he was hired by Khimky Moscow and has played for two seasons in Russia. He is a scorer who likes to penetrate to the basket or shoot from outside. He is also a decent defensive player.
