Career: Al Rayyan (Qatar-Division 1, 2005-06).
Like his older brother Mohammed, Malek Saleem Abdullah made his debut with the Qatari National Team at a very young age. He was selected to play in the 2003 FIBA Asia Championship and even started a few games at the age 18. Abdullah also benefited for some good exposure with Al Rayyan and winning the Asian Club Championship twice in 2003 and 2005. Despite all the experience he gained over the past three seasons, it will be hard for him to see significant playing time this summer at the 2006 FIBA World Championship as the roster is already filled with a lot of talented forwards.
Abdullah will probably assume a reserve role behind Ali Turki Ali, Khalid Suliman Abdi, Erfan Ali Saeed and superstar Yaseen Ismail.
