Career: Shanghai (China-CBA, 1997-2006).

Liu Wei will probably compete with Sun Yue for the starting point guard spot. But he may also team with him in the backcourt as he can play on both guard spots. He is quick and possesses good passing skills.

This season, he averaged 22.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game with the Shanghai Sharks. He has been faithful to the Sharks since 1997. He is a three-time All Star and won the CBA title in 2002. Next season, he may play in the Australian NBL to gain more international experience. He tried to join the Sacramento Kings in 2004 but failed to make the team. He has been a member of the National Team since 2002 and won two Asian Championships and competed in the 2002 FIBA World Championship and the 2004 Olympic Games.
