Career: Mitsubishi (Japan-JBL Superleague, 1995-2005), Toyota (Japan-JBL Superleague, 2005-06).
Satoru Furuta is undersized but very experienced at center. He played his first ten seasons in the JBL Superleague with the Mitsubishi Electric Dolphins before moving to the Toyota Alvark last summer. He needed only one season with his new team to win the JBL Superleague title. He is a five-time All-Star and has been a regular member of the National Team since 1998 when he made his international debut at the World Championship in Greece.
Despite his lack of size, he is a powerful player in the paint with excellent rebounding skills. Furuta has long been compared to Dennis Rodman in Japan for his warrior style of play under the basket.
