"Larry" Ayuso was one of the heroes of the Puerto Rican national team which defeated the United States at the 2004 Olympic Games as he scored 15 points. This win meant a lot to him since he was born in the Bronx and attended USC for two years. He has played nine seasons in the BSN league and claimed the title last season with Arecibo. He spent a few seasons in Europe as well, playing in Italy, Greece and Turkey. He competed in the Euroleague with Lithuanian powerhouse Zalgiris Kaunas this season but was waived despite averaging 13.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. He has had some NBA try-outs, including with the San Antonio Spurs in 2003, but failed to impress the NBA brass.
Ayuso is an incredible long-distance shooter and can score from anywhere on the court. He also has decent ball-handling skills that allow him to play the point sometimes. He can also play some defence as he is an athletic guard.
