Beno is an aggressive playmaker who can also play shooting guard. A dangerous lefty with great handles, passing and shooting, he is one of a bunch of talented young guns which makie Slovenia one of the most talented teams in Europe.
That has already yielded results with Beno's national team qualifying for the worlds for the first time. Beno started playing professionally at just 15. After getting to know serious competition in the Euroleague with Olimpija Ljubljana, Beno went on to play in Russia, Italy and and Maccabi Tel Avis in Israel . He was drafted in 2004 by San Antonio and helped them win the NBA title in 2005. Increased competition hurt Beno last season, with his minutes and production going down. If he manages to stay healthy, Udrih should be Slovenia's starting guard in Japan.
