Many European coaches believe that "Lazos" is, with no doubt, the best European center playing outside of the NBA. How could anybody contest that? Papadopoulos improved his game more drastically during the past three seasons. The big-bang came during the Olympics Games in Athens, when he was the top scorer of the Greek team. Last season in Belgrade, Lazaros was the tower that the team needed since the end of the "Fasoulas era"… Great scorer from the post, big fighter, not such a good shot blocker for his height, Papadopoulos is still a player that every opponent is afraid of.

He enjoys mind games as he is a great chess player and also a great humorist outside the court. He is a player that everybody loves in the team. This season with Dynamo Moscow, he won the ULEB Cup title, averaging 12.9 points and 6.6 rebounds in 15 games played in that competition.
