Germany's best big man for years, Patrick Femerling has loads of experience. After five EuroBasket competitions, this will be his second FIBA World Championship. The 31-year-old former NCAA college center can still dominate games for stretches, something invaluable for Coach Dirk Bauermann if Dirk Nowtizki is struggling at times.

Femerling is a true center who likes playing in the paint and is a presence on defence. He's not the most athletic player but he's an excellent rebounder and shot-blocker. He also is a hard worker and understands the importance of team spirit and self sacrifice. Bauermann also enjoys Femerling's excellent passing skills for a big man.
