Mithat Demirel is a winner who knows the game of basketball. A short playmaker, Demirel is an excellent dribbler and has the speed, quickness and vision to create for himself and his team-mates. His main quality is his fierce competitiveness, which makes him a great leader on and off the court. Demirel is also an excellent free throw shooter - even in pressure situations - and can beat teams with his three-point shooting as well.

After four years with Alba Berlin, Demirel left his hometown club to play for Besiktas Istanbul in Turkey and averaged 3.6 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists. He also led Besiktas to the semi-finals of the Turkish playoffs. His playmaking skills will be crucial for Coach Bauermann - especially if his other point guards are struggling.
