Career: Evreux (France Pro B, 1994-1996), Evreux (France-Pro A, 1996-2000), Nancy (France-Pro A, 2000-02), Leche Rio Breogan Lugo (Spain-ACB, 2002-05), Forum Valladolid (Spain-ACB, 2005-06).
Started his career with a Silver Medal at the 1996 U18 European Championship Men. Was then supposed to be the second best player after Jérôme Moïso, but scored only 6.7 ppg (4th top scorer for France) despite obvious talent that impressed NBA scouts. He had a slow but steady development with his hometown team, Evreux, where he ended up scoring 11.3 ppg in 2000. Gomis played two years with Nancy and won the last ever Korac Cup (in 2002) while scoring 11.4 ppg.
Nicknamed "Jo" or "Jogo", Gomis has always heard the debate about him being a point guard or a shooting guard in a playmaker's body. But he has established himself as a legitimate point man in Europe's top league over the last four years without losing his scoring potential.
