Career: Ottawa (Canada-CIS, 2002-03), Champville (Lebanon-Division A, 2003-04), Sporting Al Riyadi (Lebanon-Division A, 2004-06).
Ali Mahmoud attended the University of Ottawa in Canada and has both Canadian and Lebanese citizenship. He came back to Lebanon in 2003 to play for Champville and accomplished a very promising first year in the first division, averaging 3.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. He joined Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut the next season and continued to develop his game. He led the league in steals and improved vastly all of his statistics, helping the team to clinch the title. Last summer, he made his debut with the National Team at the 2005 FIBA Asia Championship in Doha, as the reserve point guard behind Rony Fahed.
This season, he averaged 11.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists and won a second national title. He will likely be the reserve point guard of the National Team at the 2006 FIBA World Championship in Japan
