Along with Andrea Bargnani, Angelo Gigli represents a new era for "Azzurri" at the power forward position. Gigli has a great work ethic which has helped him improve his technical skills to play three different positions - from small forward to center. He needs to add some weight to be a legitimate power forward at the world's highest level - and not just a dangerous player from the outside. Gigli declared himself eligible for the 2005 NBA Draft and worked out with a few teams, but he was not selected.
Very quick down the floor, he can use a nice little hook-shot. He has also improved his three-point shooting, studying his national team captain Giacomo Galanda. One of the best shot-blockers in the Italian Lega, Angelo is also an alley-oop specialist. And without any doubt, he will be one of the key players for the future of the national team.
