Career: Iowa State (USA-NCAA Div. 1, 1995-99), Taranaki Moutain Airs (New Zealand-NBL, 1999), Nelson Giants (New Zealand-NBL, 2000), Kouvot (Finland-Korisliiga, 2000), Cairns Taipans (Australia-NBL, 2001-05), Taranaki Moutain Airs (New Zealand-NBL, 2005-06), Wollongong Hawks (Australia-NBL, 2005-06).

Tony Rampton spent four years at Iowa State before coming back to his native country in 1999. He was named NBL rookie of the year in 1999 and won the Kiwi MVP trophy the following year after joining the Nelson Giants. He debuted with the Tall Blacks in 1999 and was then a key player in the victory at the 2001 Oceania Championship over Australia. But an injury prevented him from playing at the 2002 FIBA World Championship. Rampton played only one game in Europe before joining the Cairns Taipans, in the Australian NBL, in 2001. At 30, he had the best season of his career in 2005-06. He averaged 12.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per games with the Wollongong Hawks in the Australian NBL and 17.9 points and 11.3 rebounds with the Taranaki Mountain Airs in the New Zealand NBL.

Rampton is an athletic big man who can run the floor despite his size and has good rebounding skills.
