Khalid Suliman Abdi is the most promising Qatari player and has a bright future. At only 19, he is already a key member of the National Team. Joey Stiebing recognized Abdi's talent early and gave him the opportunity to play at the last two FIBA Asia Championships. Like Saad Abdulrahman Ali, Abdi plays for As Sadd in national competitions but was loaned to Al Rayyan to compete for the Asian Club Championships in 2003 and 2005.

Abdi is a versatile player possessing good rebounding and passing skills. And he is hard to stop one-on-one. The 2006 FIBA World Championship could be a unique opportunity for him to show himself on the international stage.
