Born to Panama parents, Cota has been getting closer to the National Team over the last few years. At 30, he will be a rookie on the team heading to Japan. Cota can bring a lot to the Panama National Team as far as leadership and experience. He had a very strong season with Zalgiris Kaunas in 2003-04 and almost made it to the Final Four. His one weakness remains his shot, which will probably never fall consistently.
