Pero Cameron is the Tall Blacks' captain. He has been a member of the National Team since 1994 and led the Kiwis to the semi-finals of the 2002 FIBA World Championship, revealing himself on the international stage and being named to the World Championship All-Star Team. Cameron won 7 NBL titles, 5 with the Auckland Stars under National Team coach Tab Baldwin and 2 with Waikato. Cameron has also played in England with the Chester Jets and finally joined Tab Baldwin last summer at Turkish side Banvitspor.
Cameron is an undersized power forward with the shooting ability of a guard. His physical style of play compensates his lack of size under the boards. He also possesses excellent passing skills. But he is above all a leader on and off the court. He know how to use his experience to make his teammates better.
