Career: Beovuk (Yugoslavia-YUBA B, 1997-98), Zeleznik (Yugoslavia-YUBA, 1998-2004), Dynamo St. Petersburg (Russia-Superleague, 2004-06).
One of the forgotten big men of Serbia-Montenegro, alongside Jovo Stanojevic. Maybe this is due to the fact that he plays in faraway St Petersburg, with Dynamo. In the beginning of the new millennium, Ognjen was hailed as the new generation Serbian big man. At 205 cm, he is deceptively "small" for a center, but he has an enormous wingspan and makes most of his plays above the rim.
Combined with a soft shooting and passing touch, he is a versatile big man respected by all opponents. With the reshuffle in the national team, Askrabic will make his comeback after three years of absence. A new setting and a new coach could help Ognjen lift his game to another level and justify the hopes invested in him to date.
