Career: Olimpija Ljubljana (Slovenia-Division 1A, 1998-2001), Indiana Pacers (NBA, 2001-04), Charlotte Bobcats (NBA, 2004-06). Selected in the first round of the 2000 NBA draft (#27), by the Indiana Pacers.

Together with Lithuania’s Zukauskas and Serbia’s Krstic, Primoz Brezec is the one of the best European centers in the NBA. What more can one ask for his team? The giant Slovenian was finally awarded legitimate playing time over the last two seasons with the Bobcats and he responded more than well. If you ask him, he will not stop there. Primoz hopes to continue improving his skills and to enjoy the next ten years as one of the elite centers in the NBA. At the Worlds, Brezec will compete with Rasho Nesterovic for a place in the Slovenian starting five.

A tough job, but whoever ends up being the starting center, it will be for the common good. Having NBA twin towers in the lineup is also a possibility, and coach Pipan can be sure that there won’t be a single coach in Japan who will not envy him.
