AUS – Ware off target in shot for big bucks Down Under

PERTH (NBL Grand Final) - Cairns Taipans’ supporter Randy Ware missed out on his shot at becoming a rich man in the opening game of the NBL Grand Final Down Under.

Ware travelled to Perth for the Game 1 clash against Wollongong and at the end of the third quarter had a chance to bury an attempt from half-court for 100,000 Australian dollars.

The shot was straight and on line but a little short, tickling the bottom of the net.

Perth, meanwhile, won the game 75-64 and can clinch the title if they prevail in Game 2 on Tuesday night in Wollongong.

The Wildcats are staying humble ahead of the clash.

"We're staying focused,” Australia international Shawn Redhage said.

“In this league, things can change so quickly and we have a huge task ahead of us in Game 2.

“Only one team has gone in there to win this season. If we can do that, then we deserve where we are at and we are looking forward to the challenge."
