AUCKLAND (FIBA U19 World Championship) – FIBA’s Sport Director Lubomir Kotleba got a very special greet one day before the FIBA U19 World Championship for Men tips off in Auckland, New Zealand. He was welcomed by a Maori warrior in a traditional costume during tonight’s official welcome and dinner at Skycity Hotel.
The welcome which was preformed is called a ‘powhiri’. All participating teams were in attendance.
The tournament, that determines the best basketball nation in the world for boys born in 1990 or later, will start on 2nd July at 10 am local time with the game Iran – USA.
