OKLAHOMA CITY (2010 FIBA World Championship) - Argentina's Luis Scola started and played just 22 seconds for the Houston Rockets at Oklahoma City on Sunday before getting hit in the eye and leaving the game.
The power forward suffered a bad cut to his eyelid and required seven stitches.
The injury happened when Etan Thomas dunked with his right hand and inadvertently hit Scola with his left.
Scola’s injury opened the door for Australia's David Andersen to play a career-high 29 minutes. He scored 12 points and corralled eight rebounds in Houston's 100-91 triumph.
Scola and Andersen will represent their countries at the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey next year.
