SLO - Slovenian league round-up

Krka beat Helios once again

DOMZALE (Liga Telemach) – Krka recorded an impressive 71-58 away win over last season’s finalist Helios Domzale to move ahead of them to the top of the table.

The hosts suffered their fifth defeat as Krka beat them for the second time this season. Jure Balazic had 15 points and seven rebounds for the visitors while Aleksej Laskevic had a game-high 16 in a losing cause.

Meanwhile, Hopsi Polzela extended their winning steak to five games by edging out PRO-Tek Zasavje 86-80. The result saw them improve to 8-9 on the season, good enough for eighth place in the standings.

PRO-TEK’s Vladimir Anzulovic and Mladen Soskic were the game’s top scorers with 23 points each, but it wasn’t enough as the balanced scoring of Hopsi proved to be the formula for success on the day. Primoz Kobale had 19 points in the winning cause.

Elsewhere, Dario Krejic had 18 points to lead newcomers Parklji past Elektra Esotech 79-68 as Predrag Jacimovic’s side stayed just inside the group of seven teams that will qualify for the league’s decisive phase.

At the bottom of the table, last-place Sencur CP KR were still left looking for their first win of the season after a crushing 102-80 defeat at the hands of third-place Geoplin Slovan. There was an encouraging sign for Grega Jeras’ side as latest addition Crt Ristic had a personal best 19 points in his debut for the minnows.
