NEW YORK (2010 FIBA World Championship) - Argentina's Manu Ginobili hit six three-pointers on Monday night, including four in the final quarter, to lead the under-strength San Antonio Spurs past the Toronto Raptors.
The Spurs were missing injured starters Tim Duncan and French playmaker Tony Parker but with Batman in the line-up (Ginobili recently made headlines by swatting a bat to the floor in San Antonio), the Texas outfit was in good hands.
In the Spurs' 131-124 win, Ginobili finished with a game-high 36 points but wasn't happy after the contest due to his team's continued struggles on defense.
"We were talking before the season about trying to be the best team in the league defensively, and so far we're not even close," the veteran guard said.
Utah, meanwhile, got 18 points and 12 rebounds from their Turkey international Mehmet Okur in a 95-93 win at New York.
Okur, who didn't play for Turkey the past couple of years, has already declared his intention to represent his country when they host the 2010 FIBA World Championship next year while Ginobili will not make a decision on his possible appearance for Argentina, who top the FIBA World Rankings, until after the season.
Other players who may end up playing in Turkey were in action on Monday.
