HAMBURG (FIBA U17 World Championship 2010) Frank Menz, German Head Coach of the U17 National Team that will compete at the FIBA U17 World Championship from July 2nd - to July 11th, 2010 in Hamburg, Germany, gathered his enlarged squad for a training camp this past weekend in Rotenburg. Here, Menz put special attention to the players that did not make the team at the European Championship in August. The German Coach underlined that all players of the enlarged squad have the chance to make the team that represents Germany next July in Hamburg for the World Championships.
Menz was very content after the intense practices with his team: "It was a great atmosphere and everybody is very motivated. Especially the younger players (born in '94) worked hard, showed physical presence and have very good chances to make the team for the World Championship."
In Rotenburg, Menz and his coaching staff put a special emphasis on position based drills as well as technical components. "As far as team tactics are concerned, we will increase working on that next year when it becomes somewhat clearer who will make the team," Menz explains.
In December, Menz gathers his squad again to put them in the mood for the important year 2010.
