CORDOBA (Liga Nacional) - Peñarol won Game 2 of their Liga Nacional play-off final series with Atenas to level the tie at 1-1.

Argentina international Roman Gonzalez dominated with 23 points and 13 rebounds for Sergio Hernandez's team in their 85-74 triumph in Cordoba.

David Jackson led all scorers in the contest with 27 points for Peñarol.

Atenas lost despite a dream start.

They opened the game with a 12-2 run and went even further ahead at 21-8 but Ruben Magnano's side did not press home the advantage.

Hernandez, the coach of Argentina's national team, will lead Peñarol in Game 3 at home in Mar del Plata on Monday night.
