FIBA launches tender for worldwide licensing representative

GENEVA, Switzerland (Licensing tender) – FIBA on Wednesday issued an Invitation to Submit Proposals (ISP) aimed at appointing a worldwide licensing representative responsible for developing its licensing programme and those of its major upcoming competitions.

The purpose of the licensing programme is to promote the competitions in the host countries and around the world. It should also give an opportunity to fans worldwide to enrich their tournament experience and provide a long-lasting souvenir of the events.

Competitions belonging to the programme include the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women, and may also extend to eight of the 2013 FIBA Continental Zone Championships: the FIBA Africa Championships (Men & Women), the FIBA Americas Championships (Men & Women), the FIBA Asia Championships (Men & Women) and the FIBA Oceania Championships (Men & Women).

The licensing representative will act on behalf of FIBA in prospecting and appointing licensees to develop products carrying the marks of FIBA and its competitions.

Interested parties should email licensing@fiba.com to request a copy of the ISP document, which will provide detailed information about the tender process.

The deadline for submitting proposals in response to the ISP is 12:00 (CET) on 19 October 2012.
