NEW ORLEANS (All Star weekend) - Antawn Jamison shot to fame in the United States as a freshman at the University of North Carolina and went on to become one of many Tar Heel greats, and he’s been a terrific player in the NBA as well with the Washington Wizards. A member of Team USA’s bronze-medal winning side at the 2006 FIBA World Championship in Japan, Jamison was at the All Star Weekend in New Orleans but not only to play basketball. Jamison and other players were in the Big Easy to help build a playground for kids as the area still recovers from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. The 31-year-old, who began his NBA career in 1998, spoke to George Eddy on behalf of FIBA.
