NEW ORLEANS (All Star weekend) - It’s hard to imagine what the San Antonio Spurs would have been like without Tim Duncan, the first overall pick in the 1997 NBA draft. The team would not, it can be safely assumed, have won four NBA crowns without him. Duncan, 31, who hails from the Virgin Islands but played for Team USA at the Athens Olympics, was a member of the Western Conference All-Star Team in New Orleans over the weekend. In his interview with FIBA, Duncan gives the NBA a big thumbs-up for staging its midseason showpiece event in the Big Easy.
