FIBA Registered Testing Pool (RTP)
According to the WADA provisions, the term “Registered Testing Pool (RTP)” is defined as follows: “The pool of top level athletes established separately by each International Federation (and NADO) who are subject to both in-competition and out-of-competition testing (…). Each IF (and NADO) will clearly define the criteria for inclusion of athletes in the registered testing pool”.
FIBA has decided to annually determine its RTP. For the 2007/2008 basketball season, all players registered for:
- Olympic qualifying tournaments for Men and Women
- Olympic Games for Men and Women
- Euroleague competitions for Women
- Euroleague competitions for Men
are automatically considered as part of the FIBA Registered Testing Pool for 1 year.
Please note as a general rule that all players, no matter if they are part of the RTP or not, remain subject to out-of-competition testing at all times.
