FIBA has a new game - 3x3 basketball
Both simple and fun to play, 3x3 basketball is the most preferred format of recreational basketball played on playgrounds around the world.
It is a valuable promotional activity for basketball and also increasingly played at competitive off-season tournaments.
FIBA is looking to strengthen its growth and increase the number of basketball players and fans by structuring and developing 3x3 basketball worldwide. Following
the
successful introduction in the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, the ultimate goal is that 3x3 becomes a self-sustained new FIBA discipline and enters the Olympic Games by latest 2020.
FIBA will regulate the rules of the game, facilitate the promotion of the discipline and sanction the organisation of 3x3 tournaments with the support of Zones and
National Federations.
| 2011 test tournaments are launched! Anyone interested in the tests should contact Kevin Bovet at 3x3@fiba.com |
