Nigeria v Brazil

The final day of play Group B starts off with Nigeria and Brazil drinking at the last chance saloon. If the AfroBasket 2015 champions Nigeria get their second victory, they have a great chance of reaching the Quarter-Finals. A win would not be enough for Nigeria to advance if Croatia beat Lithuania because that would leave the Africans in fifth. If Nigeria lose, they are out. If Brazil win, they stay alive. Argentina would also have to beat Spain for the Olympic hosts to make the Last Eight.

Spain v Argentina

The pressure is off Argentina in terms of reaching the Quarter-Finals because their double overtime triumph over Brazil on Saturday clinched a spot in the Final Phase. What has yet be decided for Sergio Hernandez's team is the place in the Group B standings it will occupy and that is important because it will determine who Argentina will face in the Quarter-Finals. Their place will depend on the results of the other two games, not just their own. For Spain, it's simple. A win will clinch second place and a Quarter-Final against European rivals France. Spain can still lose and advance if Nigeria beat Brazil and Lithuania overcome Croatia. If Pau Gasol and Co were to lose, but Nigeria were to beat Brazil and Croatia were to win against Lithuania, Spain would finish fourth.

Lithuania v Croatia

Lithuania have already sealed a spot in the Quarter-Finals and will finish first with a victory over Croatia. A second consecutive loss would leave the Baltic side in third place. For Croatia, it's anyone's guess as to where they will end up because Aco Petrovic's team can end up in first, second, third, fourth or fifth. Most important for Croatia is to win because that will seal a place in the Quarter-Finals. If Croatia lose, they can still advance to the Last Eight if the Brazilans beat Nigeria and Spain win against Argentina (Croatia would finish fourth) or if Brazil beat Nigeria and Argentina knock off Spain (which would leave Croatia third).
