Saric: It's all about hunger and desire for Croatia

RIO DE JANEIRO (Rio 2016 Olympic Games) - Croatia continue to win basketball games in the summer of 2016.

A team sent packing from EuroBasket 2015 following a humiliating defeat to the Czech Republic, the Croats won the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) in Turin and are now winners in two of their three games at the Olympics, the latest after a tough loss.

Edged by Argentina in Group B in a contest that started late Tuesday night and finished early Wednesday morning, Aco Petrovic's side bounced back and held off Brazil on Thursday, 80-76.

Dario Saric, whose block of a Pau Gasol shot at the death gave Croatia victory over Spain on Day 2, spoke to FIBA.com after a 15-point ,7-rebound, 3-assist performance in the team's second victory.

FIBA.com: You guys are forever coming up with steals, beating opponents to loose balls. Where does this determination come from?
Saric: We want it. We're young, we're full of energy, we're hungry. That's the most important thing in basketball, when you're hungry every day, every game - nobody can beat you.

FIBA.com: Luck can play a part in some of these games but you guys seem to be making your own luck.
Saric: Sometimes you can be lucky. These two games, I don't want to say that we're lucky because this team has been fighting. We deserved the wins against Spain and Brazil and now we move on to the next opponent.

Saric's block of Gasol is one of the top plays of the tournament

FIBA.com: How many more wins do you guys need before everyone, even the fans back home, start believing in this team?
Saric: I don't know. We don't care. We don't care who believes in us. We believe in each other in the locker room. What other people say out of the locker room? It's not important.

FIBA.com: There is clearly a very good chemistry in this team. You and Bojan stand out, though. You two are consistently making plays.
Saric: Of course. Bojan scored 32, 33 points today. He is the shooter that will take more balls for the offense but we, the rest of the players, fight and make his job for him. We create on offense for each other.
