Nervous Vaulet looks to meet expectations after getting drafted in NBA

HERAKLION (2015 FIBA U19 World Championship) -  Juan Pablo Vaulet was especially nervous ahead of the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship. Not because of playing in his third global tournament. No, the 19-year-old Argentinean was anxious to see if he would be selected in the 2015 NBA Draft.

With the U19 Worlds set to tip off on Saturday, Vaulet was chosen with the 39th overall pick by the Charlotte Hornets and traded to the Brooklyn Nets in Thursday night's draft.

"I woke up at 6 a.m. and I was a little nervous but then I found out and I was happy," the 19-year-old told FIBA.com.

"This is a big motivation for me. I will work very hard to improve my level."

About being drafted by the Nets, Vaulet said: "I have been told that this is a beautiful organisation. And it's one of the best in the NBA. So I will work very hard this summer to meet the expectations."

Vaulet will be playing for Argentina at his third global competition, following the 2012 FIBA U17 World Championship and 2013 FIBA U19 World Championship.

"It's a great pleasure to be at this world championship and I will try to get the maximum out of this moment."
